Second Honeymoon
This classic Sam Cree comedy takes us back to the 1960’s when Belfast couple Frank and Agnes McIlroy revisit the Bangor guesthouse where they spent their honeymoon 25 years earlier.
Meet Mrs. Liggett, the sanctimonious landlady whose strict house rules do nothing to ensure an enjoyable holiday, and Vera, her giddy maid, whose main aim in life is to get a fella!
Enter Walter Mansfield and his self-important wife, newly weds Stephen and Sally Mitchell and the rather flamboyant Victor Bruce. A bathing beauty competition takes place at Pickie Pool when Sally’s involvement does not go down well with her new husband. Much to Frank’s annoyance, Malcolm Adair, a former boyfriend of Agnes, and practical joker, arrives on the scene, further diminishing Frank’s enjoyment.
Finally, Henry Jefferson, an American sailor, and Vera’s latest conquest enters the scene, but the romantic mood is shattered by a drunk Frank and Walter returning to the guesthouse having stayed too long in the pub.
This hilarious comedy will have you laughing from the first minute to the last.
