Belvoir Players Studio Theatre which boasts itself as “the only purpose built performing space in Castlereagh” is organising a series of “Friday night Autumn Theatre events” in the intimate atmosphere that is the Studio Theatre.
The season kicks off on September 17th with three performances of Sam Cree’s “Strictly for the Birds” coming home to Belvoir after a Sell Out Summer tour of the Province.
October 8th, 9th & 10th sees Belvoir Players working in conjunction with the Ulster Cancer Foundation in a production of “Unravelling the Ribbon” a new play by Maureen White and Mary Kelly to mark “Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the UCF.
On October 16th & 17th the Studio hosts an Audio Visual Exhibition of the work of the late Richard Mills Jnr a photojournalist with The Times who travelled the Globe on assignments where he captured the “Images of War & Disaster”.
St Agnes Choral Society take the stage on October 23rd in concert with “The Magic of the Musicals” with songs from such shows as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver and many more.
Peter Corry brings his production of the comedy musical “I Love You. You’re Perfect. Now Change” to the theatre on October 30th. Featuring Nuala McKeever this hit show gained rave reviews when it was staged in The Kings Head earlier in the year.
The Nomadic Theatre Company arrive on November 6th with their highly successful touring production of “The Rare Oul Times” giving us a chance to eavesdrop on a conversation between Brendan Beehan and John Kavanagh two cultural giants of 20th century Ireland.
James Huish, Ireland’s King of Swing, brings the Michael Buble Tribute Band to provide a musical feast on November 13th. Music lovers everywhere will want to be at this one.
Castlereagh One Act Drama Festival completes the line up on November 19th 20th & 21st. Featuring up to 9 of the best amateur theatre companies in Northern Ireland this annual event is a real treat for theatregoers.
